Confederazione Generale Italiana dell'Artigianato

La Confartigianato is an apolitical, independent professional association, founded on a principle of voluntary membership. It is open to all geographical, sectoral and cultural elements of the Italian craft industry.

La Confartigianato is part of CNEL (the National Council for Economics and Labour), the constitutional body that represents the world of labour and which participates in the dialogue process accompanying government action in economic and social policy in Italy. The CNEL also closely monitors the Italian Parliament's activities, representing the interests of craft businesses in the drafting and implementation of legislation.

La Confartigianato is the most active professional association working on behalf of independent, specific, original negotiations for craft businesses and their employees, with nearly 20 national collective labour agreements for an equivalent number of categories of activities, occupations and services. It is also involved in extensive negotiations at regional level.
