PREVENT is an institute whose aims are the prevention of occupational risks, the promotion of the quality of working conditions, the improvement of work organisation and the development of environmental management systems. The Institute provides support, advice and information to companies and institutions as well as to intermediaries such as occupational safety and health experts.

The aims of the Institute are the prevention of occupational risks, the promotion of the quality of working conditions, the improvement of work organisation and the development of environmental management systems.

The resources and activities of PREVENT include study and research work, advising, gathering and processing statistical data, collecting and disseminating information and documentation, producing and publishing publications, developing training aids, compiling training and education programmes and setting up information and awareness campaigns.

PREVENT has a permanent team of qualified employees who provide companies and institutions with the information and support they need to develop their prevention policy. The Institute can also rely on the support of experts in the field. Furthermore, there are close links in various areas with the government, universities, colleges of higher education and prevention institutes and associations. PREVENT also collaborates with European and international institutions.
