The Preventisme project

Preventisme is a one-year European project promoted by UEAPME (the European Association of Craft, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises), with the financial support of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, and focusing on the collection of good practices for the prevention of accidents in SMEs.

Project Objectives: Identification and dissemination of effective solutions for the prevention of accidents in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)

The main aim of the project is to identify and disseminate effective good practices for the prevention of accidents and the elimination of accident risk in SMEs (and particularly in small and micro enterprises) throughout the European Union. The project identifies the structures and actors who play a role in risk prevention in the different Member States. Taking the practical experiences of enterprises as a starting point, the project highlights the factors for success in reducing accident risk and preventing accidents.

Activities of the project: Identification of good practice information and of the success factors

Participating member organisations of UEAPME have selected (at national and sectoral level) a number of solutions implemented by small enterprises in order to prevent work related accidents and diseases. These solutions are presented on the website and in the final report, where they are complemented by background information on the preventive structures in the different countries, statistical data on risks and accidents and sectoral information.

Target groups of the project: Getting focused on SME's

Four main target groups have been identified for the project's objectives:

  • Small and micro enterprises;
  • European, national and regional social partners;
  • Professional associations representing the craft industry and SMEs at national level in the 15 Member States and the Candidate Countries;
  • Sectoral SME organisations (construction, beauticians, etc).
